Sydney Caballero is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with adults navigating life’s transitions, identity exploration, and interpersonal challenges. She specializes in supporting individuals through postpartum adjustment—particularly first-time parents or those welcoming a new child—as well as those examining their sense of self outside of societal roles. As a proud Filipina-American, Sydney brings cultural understanding and sensitivity to her work, especially when working with fellow members of the Filipino-American community.
Her therapeutic approach incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and a client-centered philosophy. Sydney’s aim is to help clients build confidence, improve communication, set healthy boundaries, and foster personal growth. She believes therapy can be a place to strengthen self-esteem and rediscover inner resilience.
With a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and a Bachelor’s in Psychology, Sydney brings seven years of experience to the therapy space, including five years working in an outpatient substance use treatment center focused on supporting women, new mothers, and children. She also supports clients dealing with trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, life transitions, self-esteem, and identity development.
Outside the therapy room, Sydney enjoys spending time with her toddler, exploring the outdoors in sunny San Diego, indulging in sushi, and going whale watching with her family.
Sydney has extensive experience working with women and families affected by addiction, trauma, and postpartum changes.
She has 5 years of experience at a substance use outpatient clinic for women, new mothers, and children.
