Out-Of-Network Benefits

If we don't accept your insurance directly, you may still be able to receive reimbursement through your out-of-network benefits. Here's how it works:

  1. Pay for services upfront: You'll pay our standard fee at the time of service.

  2. Request a superbill: We'll provide you with a detailed superbill that includes all the information your insurance company needs.

  3. Submit for reimbursement: You'll submit this documentation to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement according to your plan's out-of-network coverage.

  4. Receive reimbursement: Your insurance company will send any eligible reimbursement directly to you.

Before beginning therapy, we recommend contacting your insurance provider to verify your specific out-of-network benefits for mental health services. Ask about:

  • Your deductible amount and whether it's been met

  • The percentage of coverage for out-of-network mental health providers

  • The number of sessions covered annually

  • Whether pre-authorization is required

Cancellation Policy

We understand that life happens, and sometimes appointments need to be rescheduled. However, to serve all our clients effectively, we maintain the following cancellation policy:

These fees are not billable to insurance and will be charged to the credit card on file. Exceptions may be made in cases of emergency at the therapist's discretion.

  • 48-Hour Notice: We require 48 hours' notice for all cancellations or rescheduling.

  • Late Cancellation Fee: Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice will incur a fee of 50% of your session rate.

  • No-Show Fee: Missed appointments without notice will be charged the full session fee.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes, we offer a limited number of sliding scale spots based on financial need and current availability. Please discuss this with our intake coordinator if cost is a barrier to receiving care.

  • We recommend calling the member services number on your insurance card and asking about your mental health benefits, specifically for outpatient therapy with a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

  • We accept all major credit cards, HSA/FSA cards, personal checks, and cash.

  • The duration varies widely depending on your specific concerns, goals, and commitment to the process. Some families find significant improvement in 8-12 sessions, while others benefit from longer-term therapy. We regularly review progress with you and adjust the treatment plan accordingly. Our goal is to provide the support you need for as long as it's helpful, without creating unnecessary dependency.

  • Payment or copayment is due at the time of service. For telehealth appointments, we'll charge the card on file after your session.

  • If our services don't fit your current budget, we're happy to provide referrals to community resources, including lower-cost options and support groups in the Riverside area.

  • Most clients begin with weekly sessions, then may transition to bi-weekly as progress is made. Your therapist will discuss the recommended frequency based on your specific needs and goals.

  • We can work with you to establish a payment plan for special circumstances. Please discuss your needs with our office manager.
