Katherine Fonseca is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor who works with individuals, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, relational challenges, trauma, and life transitions. Her work is rooted in attachment theory, helping clients understand how earlier experiences and relationships continue to shape their emotions, their behaviors, and the way they connect with the people who matter most to them.

Katherine's approach draws on attachment-based therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. She works to create a safe, collaborative space where clients feel seen, understood, and supported as they explore the experiences, attachment patterns, and relationship dynamics that have made them who they are. Her focus is on fostering insight, emotional healing, and change that lasts, shaped around each client rather than a single method.

Katherine received her Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University in 2024. She has experience supporting teenagers, college students, young adults, adults, and couples from many walks of life, and she also works with clients facing life transitions and trauma.

Outside the therapy room, Katherine treasures time with her family, whether that means being at church together, getting up into the mountains, relaxing poolside, or settling in for a movie.

  • Katherine's work is grounded in attachment theory, giving clients a framework for understanding why certain patterns keep showing up in their relationships and how those patterns can shift.

  • She prioritizes a safe, collaborative therapeutic relationship, so clients feel genuinely seen and supported throughout the process rather than analyzed from a distance.

  • Across concerns like anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, and life transitions, her focus stays on insight, emotional healing, and lasting change through a compassionate and individualized approach.
