Self-Harm and Emotional Regulation
Crisis Support
Adolescent Mental Health
Devyn Escobar is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who specializes in adolescent mental health and welcomes clients of every age. Devyn supports teens and their families through self-harm, emotional regulation challenges, and moments of crisis, offering steady, compassionate care when life feels overwhelming. Genuine connection sits at the heart of Devyn's work, with every client given a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space to be heard, process their experiences, and recognize the strengths they already carry.
Devyn's approach draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Family Systems Therapy. CBT and DBT give clients practical skills for managing intense emotions, tolerating distress, and building healthier ways of coping, while a person-centered foundation keeps each session grounded in empathy, acceptance, and the client's own goals. Family Systems work brings the wider picture into view, helping clients and families understand how relationships and patterns at home shape the way a young person feels and responds. Together, these approaches help clients develop a deeper understanding of themselves and the confidence to navigate life's challenges.
Devyn holds a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University. Beyond the three core specialties, Devyn brings a trauma-informed lens to every session and also supports clients with behavioral challenges and interventions, coping skills development, and youth psychosocial development, helping young people grow through the social, emotional, and developmental changes of adolescence. For clients of all ages, Devyn's goal is lasting growth: greater self-worth, healthier relationships, and meaningful changes that improve overall well-being.
Outside the therapy room, Devyn's favorite company is Monty, a dog who is always ready for a good snuggle or a trip to the dog beach. Quality time with loved ones is a priority, and a sweet treat from time to time is always a welcome part of the day.
Devyn's empathy and compassion create a safe, nonjudgmental space where adolescents and adults alike can talk openly about difficult experiences, including self-harm and moments of crisis, and feel truly heard and accepted.
Devyn places genuine connection at the center of therapy, building the trust that helps clients of every age, and teens especially, engage openly and collaboratively in their own care.
A deep passion for the growth of others drives Devyn to help clients recognize their strengths, build healthier coping skills, and develop the self-worth and resilience to carry that progress into everyday life.
